#1. TOPIC. Salvation.  Roman 1:16
NKJ. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
NIV. I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
#2. TOPIC: A Promise for our land.   2Chronicles 7:14
NKJ. “..if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  
NIV. “..if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
#3. TOPIC: Power.  John 15:7
NKJ "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
NIV.  If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.
#4. TOPIC: Health.  Proverbs 3:7-8
NKJ“Do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear the Lord and depart from evil.  It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.”    
NIV. “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.  This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.”
#5.  TOPIC.  Intimacy with the Savior. John 14:21
NKJ. “He who has my commandments and keeps them is he who loves Me.  And he who loves Me will be loved by my Father and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”
NIV. “Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."
#6 TOPIC: How to handle the needs of this life. Matthew 6:33
NKJ. "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
NIV. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
#7  TOPIC: God’s plan for Financial Security.   Malachi 3:10.
NKJ. “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this," Says the Lord of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.”
NIV. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.
#8. TOPIC. Word = Discipleship = Freedom. John 8:31-32
NKJ. Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
NIV.  To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
#9  TOPIC: Loving the sinner while resisting the sin. John 8:11
NKJ.  And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more."
NIV. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."
#10. TOPIC: The Spirit and the Law.  Galations 5:22-24.
NKJ. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”
NIV. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.
#11 TOPIC: God’s Personal Energy Program  Isaiah 40:31
NKJ. "Those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."
NIV.  “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
#12, TOPIC: The Great Commission.  Mt 28:18-20
NKJ.  And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."  
NIV. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. #13, TOPIC: Finality of the revealed Word. Proverbs 30:5-6
NKJ “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.”
NIV. “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. 6 Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.
#14, TOPIC:  Hope.  Romans 15:13
NKJ. “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
NIV.  “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
#15.  TOPIC: Exclusiveness of Christ  Acts 4:12
NKJ. "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
NIV. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
#16. TOPIC. Honor. 1 Sam 2:30.  
NKJ. “Those who honor Me, I will honor.”
NIV. “Those who honor Me, I will honor.”
#17  TOPIC: How to handle worry. Phil 4:6-7.
NKJ. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

#18. TOPIC: Our Resources. 2Tim 1:7
NKJ. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
NIV. “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”
#19. TOPIC:  How to speak.  Ep.4:29
NKJ. “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”
NIV. “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
#20. TOPIC:  What to boast about.  Jeremiah 9:24
NIV. “But let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD.”
NKJ. “But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight," says the Lord.”
#21 TOPIC: Grace +  Faith = Salvation. Eph 2:8-9
NKJ. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
NIV.  “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.”
#22 TOPIC:  Good works will find you.  Eph 2:1
NKJ. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
NIV. “For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
#23 TOPIC. Primary Parental Responsibility  Pr.22:6
NKJ. “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.”
NIV.  “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.”
#24, TOPIC; Stability. Jude 1:24-25
NKJ. “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen.”
NIV. To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy-- to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
#25, TOPIC:  Confession 1 John.1:9
NKJ. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
NIV.  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
#26. TOPIC: The Promises. 2 Corinthians 1:20
NKJ.  For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
NIV.  For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.
#27. TOPIC: The 2nd Coming.  Matthew 16:27-28
NKJ. "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.”
NIV.  What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?  For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.
#28. TOPIC: The Gospel Message. John 3:16
NKJ. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
NIV.  “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, [f] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
#29. TOPIC: The human heart. Jeremiah 17:9-10
NKJ. The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?  I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.
NIV. The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?  I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve."
#30. TOPIC: Our Destiny.  1 Corinthians 2:9  (see also Is 64:4 & 65:17)
NKJ. But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him."
NIV. “However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"
#31.  TOPIC.  Real trust.  Job 13:15
NKJ.  “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.”
NIV.  “ Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him.”
#32. TOPIC.  The Door of the Heart.  Revelation 3:20
NKJ. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”
NIV. “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.”
#33.  TOPIC:  Self Control.  Proverbs 16:32  (see also Gal 5:23)
NKJ. He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
NIV.  Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city.
#34. TOPIC:  Testimony.  1 Peter 3:15.
NKJ.  “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear”
NIV. “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,”
#35. TOPIC.  The Antidote to Blind Faith. 1Thessalonians.5:21
NKJ. Test all things; hold fast what is good.
NIV. Test everything. Hold on to the good.
#36. TOPIC.  Apostasy. Hebrews 10:29 (see Heb 10:26-31)
NKJ. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?  
NIV. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?
#37, TOPIC:  The Sovereignty of God.  Psalm 33:11
NKJ. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations.
NIV. But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
38. TOPIC. The Free Will of human beings. Deut 30:19-20
NKJ. "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live, that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him. for He is your life and the length of your days;”
NIV. This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life..”
#39. TOPIC. The Real War.  Ephesians 6:12
NKJ. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
NIV. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
#40. TOPIC. Absent love, words are less persuasive. 1Corinthians 13:1
NKJ. “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.”
NIV. “If I speak in the tongues  of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.”
#41. TOPIC: “Sing to the Lord!” Jeremiah.20:13
NKJ. Sing to the Lord! Praise the Lord! For He has delivered the life of the poor From the hand of evildoers.
NIV. “Sing to the LORD! Give praise to the LORD! He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of the wicked.”
#42. TOPIC: The less popular side of God. Luke.12:5
NKJ. "But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!
NIV. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.
#43. TOPIC:  God expects transformed character.  Micah 6:8
NKJ. He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?
NIV. “And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
#44. Topic: Peace. John  14:27
NKJ.  "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
NIV. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
#45. TOPIC:  The inevitability of suffering.  1Peter.5:10
NKJ. “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.”
NIV. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
#46. TOPIC:  Dealing with the real enemy. James 4:7
NKJ. Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
NIV. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
#47. TOPIC: Kindness to others is kindness to the King. Mt.25:40
NKJ.  "And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'”
NIV. “The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'”
#48. Topic: Territorial Growth.  1Chronicles.4:10
NKJ. And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested.
NIV. Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request.
#49. Topic.  Prayer attitude.  Hebrews 4:16
 NKJ. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
NIV. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
#50  Topic:  His Workouts Produce Strength Gains.  Philippians 4:13
NKJ.  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
NIV.   I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
#51  TOPIC: Power for Witnessing.  Acts 1:8
NKJ. "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
NIV. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
#52 TOPIC:  The Promise of a Full Life, Psalm.68:6  (See also, John 10:10)
NKJ.  God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
NIV.   God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
